As an ensemble performer, Joohwan has performed professional concerts for OrchestraNEXT and Newport Symphony Orchestra, and he was a participant of the 2024 season at the Sewanee Summer Music Festival. He has played principal roles in significant works such as Brahms’ Symphony No. 3, Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite (1919), Bartok’s Concerto for Orchestra, and more. Additionally, he has extensive experience playing on Eb and Bass clarinet for works such as Mahler’s Symphony No. 1 (Eb), Bernstein’s Symphonic Dances from West Side Story (Bass & Eb), and Respighi’s Pini di Roma (Bass).

Joohwan is happily based in Baltimore, MD and Eugene, OR for the current season and is available for gigs in the mid-Atlantic area.
